Overview

WayOut Adventures returns with an exciting new proposal! This time, our innate need for adventure leads us to Georgia — a country where snow exploration meets authentic hospitality and the unique culture of the Caucasus.

Our first stop is Bakuriani, a peaceful resort nestled on the slopes of the Lesser Caucasus, where we’ll make our first runs and get familiar with the terrain. Our journey continues to Gudauri, the most renowned ski resort in the country.

This experience promises 9 days of alpine indulgence on the slopes of the Caucasus! Guided freeride descents and a full day of ski touring or splitboarding are available for those seeking something different, while we’ll also dive into Georgian culture through authentic flavors and cultural experiences.

Our winter escape concludes with our return to Tbilisi, celebrating the memories we’ve created, sharing stories, and closing this unforgettable adventure in the most beautiful way.

Higlights

The main goal of our journey is to practice skiing and enjoy the breathtaking mountain scenery of Georgia. Throughou our ski days, we’ll experience guided freeride descents and ski touring & splitboard excursions at the renowned Bakuriani and Gudauri ski resorts, under the guidance of the WayOut Adventures team. This adventure combines the unique beauty of the Caucasian landscape with the authentic hospitality and culture of Georgia, offering a complete experience for mountain and snow enthusiasts.

Highlights:

  • A total of 7 days of skiing at the country’s two largest ski resorts: Bakuriani Ski Resort & Gudauri Ski Resort
  • 1 day dedicated to cultural visits and sightseeing
  • 1 evening in Tbilisi, exploring the city and enjoying a traditional Georgian dinner

Optional experiences:

  • Ski touring & splitboarding with the WOA guides
  • Heliskiing opportunities on remote slopes of the Caucasus Mountains

Itinerary

13/03: Departure from Athens late at night.

14/03: Arrival in Tbilisi early in the morning. Pick up rental cars from the airport and drive to Bakuriani Ski Resort. Check-in at the hotel.

14–16/03: During these three days, we will explore and ski at Bakuriani Ski Resort. Ski runs through the fir forests will make our days on the mountain even more magical.

17/03: Morning departure after breakfast. On our way to Gudauri Ski Resort, we will visit Uplistsikhe Cave City and Chateau Mukhran for a wine tasting experience. Arrival in Gudauri is expected in the evening.

18–21/03: Four full days of skiing at Gudauri Ski Resort. Over 70 kilometers of slopes are waiting to be explored!

21/03: Half-day skiing. Departure for Tbilisi. Stop at the Russia–Georgia Friendship Monument on the way. Arrival in Tbilisi in the afternoon. Hotel check-in and dinner out in the city.

22/03: Return flight in the early morning. Arrival in Athens early on Sunday morning.

Local Information

Georgia: A country in the northeastern Caucasus, combining rich history, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality. From the historic monuments of Tbilisi to the picturesque mountain villages, the country offers unique experiences. Winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy ski resorts such as Gudauri, known for its extensive ski trails and freeride opportunities, and Bakuriani, ideal for all levels of skiers. Georgia combines natural beauty with dynamic winter recreation.

Travel documents: Georgia is not part of the European Union or the Schengen Area; however, entry into the country is allowed with a modern Greek ID card or a valid Greek passport. No visa is required.

Currency: Lari (GEL). 1 euro ≈ 3.0–3.2 GEL (depending on the exchange rate).

Roaming: Georgia is not part of the European Union, so the EU roaming privileges do not apply.

Climate: The temperature during the period and in the regions we will visit will range from 0 to -15 degrees Celsius.

Snowboard Instructor Level 2 Anwärter (Austrian Snowboard Association ÖSSV/WSSV), Irata Level 2 Rope Access Technician, First Aid and Mountain Rescue Certification, Certified Helicopter Ground Crew – Heli Swiss.

Participation Requirements: Participants must be able to comfortably ski on a red slope and have prior experience with off-piste skiing (untouched snow). Similarly, snowboarders should be able to make continuous turns with ease, comfortably riding toe-side and heel-side on varied terrains.

Pricing includes:

  • Round-trip airfare Athens – Tbilisi – Athens with Aegean Airlines
  • Accommodation in 4* hotels with breakfast, sauna, fitness club, and indoor pool
