Youth Freeski Academy is a certified by the Freeride World Tour Academy advanced freeride ski & snowboard training program for adolescents aged 14-18. It takes place in the Mt. Parnassoson five Sundays and is focused on learning and completing advanced off-piste freeride techniques and safety issues.

The Academy's priority is to provide proper education and information to promote ski education so that participants can 'dive deep' with knowledge and safety into the new but at the same time demanding activity of freeride.

The educational program is led by Yiannis Kotileas, professional and pioneer in the field, with long experience and strong scientific background.

Youth Freeski Academy is designed for adolescents aged 14-18.

The training content that the Academy covers is:

Completion of the descent technique of alpine skiing
Off-piste training techniques (fresh snow, tree-lined area, steep slopes, frozen terrain, bumps, crusts)
Practice freestyle jump techniques
Education on snow safety and avalanche safety
Orientation
Read map and weather observation
Analysis and familiarization with the equipment
Many freeride descents

Location:

Having years of experience in education, we have chosen the mountain range of Parnassos as the most suitable place for conducting the Academy. The variety of terrains as well as the choices on different slopes make it ideal to implement a comprehensive training program.

Our experience has shown us that in skiing, any desired goal is achieved through systematic occupation rather than occasional short-term lessons.

This knowledge led us to form many long-term and group lessons. It is a learning system that maximizes the fraction of benefit / cost, since while it increases the teaching hours, it proportionally reduces the cost of each participant.

The cost of the Academy for each participant is 380 € and includes:

Trainers' fees
Organization and implementation of the program
Comprehensive advanced freeride training
Provition and familiarization with avalanche search and rescue equipment (transceiver, shovel, rod)
Short theoretical lectures on ski safety, reading conditions and risk avoidance.

Participants should have the following:

Backpack 20-25L
Helmet
Bottle of water or thermos with hot drink
Sunglasses or snow goggles,
Waterproof Jacket and Pants
Gloves, Scoops, Socks
Fleece clothing or vest
Sunscreen Cream

PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS

All adolescents aged 14-18 who are able to ski down a red slope and complete continuous and controlled turns as well as to use all kinds of ski lifts are eligible to apply.
