Georgia Ski & Snb Trip Recap / March 2026

A winter adventure we’ll remember forever!

There are some trips that simply stay with you. And our journey to Georgia was exactly that: an experience full of mountains, snow, laughter, authentic moments and a group of familiar faces and mountain friends who continued their shared story together on the slopes of the Caucasus.

We departed from Athens full of excitement and anticipation for everything ahead. At the airport, all participants received souvenir gifts from The North Face, which will accompany them on this and every future adventure. A few hours later, we landed in Tbilisi and headed to Bakuriani Ski Resort — our first ski destination. There, among dense forests and magical alpine landscapes, we made our first runs. The days flowed in true mountain rhythm: early mornings, great snow conditions, technical practice on the slopes and endless evening conversations, with local chacha keeping us warm as the temperature dropped.

Our transfer to Gudauri Ski Resort on the fourth day was an adventure in itself. Our first stop was Uplistsikhe Cave City — an ancient rock-hewn town that briefly took us away from the snow and deep into Georgia’s history. The journey continued through the authentic Georgian countryside and concluded at the country’s finest winery, Chateau Mukhrani, where we enjoyed a delightful wine tasting and lunch with traditional Georgian dishes, giving us a deeper connection to the place.

That same evening, we arrived in Gudauri… where a massive skiing playground awaited us. With over 70 kilometers of slopes and countless freeride options, the following days were filled with intensity, progress, and pure mountain joy.

Although we weren’t lucky with fresh snowfall, some members of the group sought out ski touring experiences — where the effort of the ascent and the reward of the descent create something almost ritualistic. Safety, however, always comes first, which is why before each off-piste outing we held a short seminar and hands-on avalanche rescue practice, guided by our ski & snowboard instructors and guides, Giannis Kotileas and Kostas Gkoros.

Our three days in Gudauri were packed with skiing and action. Some focused on improving their technique, while others enjoyed freeriding across the vast slopes, with sunshine illuminating the snowy landscape and ideal weather conditions. The more adventurous tried paragliding, soaring above the slopes and taking in breathtaking views from above. However, everyone ended their day relaxing in the hotel’s warm outdoor pool, surrounded by steaming mountain peaks.

The trip couldn’t end without a final stop in Tbilisi. Our last day began with a walk through the city, discovering hidden gems at the open-air market, tasting local delicacies and exploring the charming old town. The walk continued with a cable car ride up to the impressive Mother of Georgia statue, where the view over the city and the Kura River was simply stunning. The evening closed with a warm dinner, stories from the slopes, laughter and the kind of sweet exhaustion only a full and meaningful trip can bring. That’s when we realized that what we experienced wasn’t just a ski trip — it was a collection of moments that brought us closer together.

Georgia generously offered us its landscapes, snow, and hospitality. We left filled with memories, new friendships, improved skiing and snowboarding skills and a deeper connection to what we love most: the mountains.
